Maybe you have a malfunctioning temperature sending unit.

I'd wait until the next time it spits out a CEL and if it is for low coolant temp then it likely is the thermostat, I wouldn't touch it right now as it is a bit of work swapping it out and you don't want to do it needlessly. You won't harm the engine.

They treated you poorly because they're a dealership. That's what they do.

My advice is to never go back there.

But about the car, like JFUSION said, wait until you can pull a code.

Can you monitor coolant temp with the gauge?

Please help!

Still cant figure out this problem. To Refresh, when the temperature outside is above about 70 degrees the car will not operate. A little after the car is all warmed up, the temp gauge drops back to one bar, and check engine light comes on, and it seems the car responds as if it were a cold start leaving it in a limp mode like state.

The worst part is that there are no codes that are saved on the computer. When the problem is happening the computer will also not give any information to the code reader.

I was told that the thermostat is opening and closing fine, and one shop thinks that the ECU might need a re-flash. I wanted to get your opinions on here before I start the guess and check game.

My next step is to give to the dealer and see what they say (that is if they will even work on it)

To add to this, when the outside temp is about 65 or below the car runs perfect.

HELP PLEASE I MISS MY S2K!!!
