Post up in your local s2ki forum and ask for a shop recommendation. As long as the head has to come off you might as well have it rebuilt. And it should go to a machine shop anyway to make sure it isn't warped.

yeah, i already have thanx anyways though. Super sucks though, cuz i'm gonna have to go to the machine shop for sure, and the thing is my motor has less than 20k miles on it...then my brother had to go and completely ruin it.

By the way, since everything is going to be off...find out what cuased it to overheat in the first place. Or everything is gonna be screwed up after its fixed.

it was leaking cuz my radiator had a slow leak in it, probably about 1 gallon per hundred or some miles/week. but my brother decided to drive 100 miles to and from san diego w/out even bother to look @ the temp gauge as it was going up.

Ah. thats f'd up. If youre gonna 'borrow' a car, make sure of you dont break it!. aluminum + Heat = no no. Good luck getting everything sorted out man.

Just remember that there are limits to how much you can mill off the head surface. The manual lists service limits for flatness and how much can be machined off. Yours sounds like it might be really trashed. If it's too warped, you are probably better off getting a new head. You should be able to get a bare head for a couple hundred bucks, then move all the cams, springs, etc. over to it.

[EDIT] And for God's sake, fix the cooling system leak while you are at it.
