Default Proper storing procedure for an unused engine

Im trying to get some input on storing an engine for long periods of time 6 months or more most likely. I have my built motor assembled ( used) ( Ilp sleeved ) sitting in my garage and awaiting transplant into my s2k. I have been adding 3-4 cap fulls of oil down into the spark plug holes and turning the motor over 10-15 times every 2 weeks. This gets bothersome I was wondering if I can just fill the motor with oil top and bottom for storage and drain it all out when installation time comes? Anybody have any advice?

I remove the spark plugs, spray in engine fogging solution (available at any supply store), put the spark plugs back in to torque. This is a common technique when winterizing outboard boat engines. For those who don't know, winter is a season when we northerners put all our fun toys away because the lakes are frozen over and salt eats up the cars.
To keep dust from being sprayed into the plug holes accidenttally, i use a long straw to spray the fogging solution into the cylinder.

Oil will pool on the piston top but fogging oil is better at getting the cylinder walls coated.

I would be concerned with continually putting oil in the cylinder, filling a cylinder up with oil, then starting the engine, and hydrolocking the engine. or filling the oil sump beyond factory fill levels. I may be wrong about this last point, but my logic makes sense to me.

good luck

That's enough oil don't add any more, 6 months isn't that long of a storage period. Your cylinders should be well protected by now. When you go to start up the engine spin it with the fuel pump fuse pulled and no spark plugs so you don't hydro-lock it just in case the cylinders are flooded with oil. Turn the engine over 5-10 revolutions before putting the spark plugs back in and fuel pump fuse.
