I'm a little curious as to wether or not my LSD is operating as it should. It likes to groan a bit on very tight, low speed turns (u-turns, typically). It also groans on less tight , but still low speed turns when my 245# roommate is in the passenger seat. Tonight, on a wet road, from a stop, I dumped the clutch at 3000rpm and it kinda seems to hop, but im not sure if that was the diff or the tires alternately gaining and then losing traction.

is this a characteristic of the unit used in our cars or do I have a bum diff?

According to Torsen when I had trouble with mine, the torsen unit in the S2000 should be pretty much silent. If it makes noise in parking lot turns, it's not working properly. It doesn't take much for them to get to that point. As for total failure, I never let mine get that far out of hand.

yeah, but I can't get it back together. It takes more than two hands to assemble since you have to hold 10 gears and a couple washers together and drop it all into the casing at once.

I was wondering if you could get ring and pinion measurements?

I think that spoon price is a little too high, considering some cheaper sets go for about 300 bucks. If I could just find out the sizes (bolt centers, pinion offsets, and how much room there is in the case, I could maybe find a set that would fit.

Id hate to tear mine open. Anything you could do would be great.

I think you're mixing up when I say "rear end" and when I say "differential". When I say differential I mean just the unit that bolts to the ring gear inside of the rear end. The rear end I re-adjusted, installed all new bearings and seals in, put the Kaaz into, and put back on the car. The torsen differential itself is all I have outside of the car. That will give you the bolt pattern for the ring gear, but no measurements for the gears themselves. I seriously doubt you'll find a pinion gear that just happens to fit into this rear end. It's machined pretty precisely with odd little tapers and edges and such. Anyway, I didn't take measurements on the dimensions for the ring and pinion before putting it all together, so I'm probably not of much help in finding a new gear set for the rear end.

OK i thought you might have gotten a different case.
As for the gears, Im sure I could find something that can be custom fit. Anything IS possible, and at some of those prices it can be done all over. . .

Thanks
