Thumbs up Pulling the block

We've snapped a 1/2" breaker bar(picture later) trying to go CCW. I have a Comptech sc which doesn't really matter.

I'm becoming very frustrated. Any tips, suggestions, etc. are appreciated. The head has already been removed.

It's lefty loosy Skip. Get a pipe to slip over the breaker bar, and use one with a lifetime warranty so you can replace it when it breaks.

Thanks, Chris. That is exactly what we did.

I so want to just let this piece of crap roll down my driveway and out into the street and have someone hit it.

We have made zero progress getting the block out today. Allenhead bolts on the prop shaft creak once or twice but won't turn. Soon I'll have a circle on the inside(yes, I attached a pr of Vise Grips on the the outside to keep the bolt from worming out).

Skip, those allen head bolts can be bitches. I reamed out 2 of 'em dropping my diff. I just took a dremel to them and cut the heads off. It was both satisfying and effective.

Bryan, I had to do that when I put the 4.57's in. That's how I came about putting the vise grips on 'em.

I tried at the tranny, but then thought the ones at the diff might be easier because they were removed 1.5 yrs ago. I'm to the point where I'm considering paying someone to come to the house and drop this b!tch. I know... I know... I'm wimping out.

Question about your question

You trying to pull the motor/trans as a unit? Is that why you need to pull the crank pulley?

Well....I'm sure you have the crank holding tool....I use a rolled up towel on the passenger shock tower to hold the holding tool.

I then proceed with a 2' 1/2dr Matco breaker bar, with the addition of a pipe. Even at 3.5 feet of leverage from the crank, the breakaway torque is enourmous, and pretty scary. I'd say if you could fit a 3/4 drive it would be great, haven't tried it. I think it comes down to the strength of the 1/2 stuff...maybe a bud has something of high quality kicking around...
