To filter oil out before it goes into the intake of course, but the S2000 is prone to sucking in oil throught the PCV in clockwise sweepers under high g conditions like when racing or autocrossing. When this happens not only can a lot of oil be sucked into the intake, but a large blue cloud of smoke is usually emitted from the exhaust.

The MY00-MY2003 is more prone than the MY04 and up. Honda they changed the valve cover design and how the PCV is routed on the later models. It can still happen on the later models under the right conditions like on a road race track. There is a post somewhere that shows a MY04 at mid Ohio with huge smoke clouds billowing out the back. At an event like autocross or the track such smoke can get you a lot of unwanted attention and questioning.

You'd be suprised at how much oil they pick uo even on a NA, my old celica GTS PCV valve broke and allowed excessive amounts of oil through and i engaged lift(toyota vtec) in my car and ended up caused a massive amount of smoke and blowing a hole around the welds on my CAI, got a new valve and oil catch can and was suprised at how much was really in there.

I made a very simple catch can from an air compressor filter and you'd be surprised how much oil it catches...

Here's an example of such.

Home Made Oil Catch

I use this and have had it almost fill up at an autocross with just the right kind of turn. Of couse I put in on in the first place because I experienced the great blue cloud at another event.

For daily driving, I drive about 50 miles to/from work each day, I empty it about once per month.

You need to learn to use the search engine! Go search for "cusco oil catch can" and you'll find lots of threads, some with pictures like the one below.

No, not really. Millions of cars are on the road without a catch tank.
