question about comptech SC housing (i guess housing)
My comptech SC (what i call) housing, has cracked and one of the legs is broken off. It's the thing that says "Comptech S2000" on it. It's the plate that runs from the mounts and runs behind the pulley of the SC. The far right leg that mounts to the engine just completely broke off...and it's got a rather large crack through the "Comptech S2000" writing.
Can you order just this part? Or would it hold if I tried to weld it back together. I've had two of these break on me now. The last time I luckily found a guy that tore his SC up, and he just gave me the part. The guy that tore his up said it was his second Comptech SC and that his first one broke in the exact same place mine broke. Anyone ever had this happen to them before? I've got about 12000 miles on the SC.
Any help on how I might get another one, or opinions on if the weld would be good enough would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Dave

if anyone reads this thread that happens to know comptech's phone number, could you please post it...or pm it to me? Their website is down. I was going to call them first but couldn't get a number, so I posted the question on here to see if anyone else had this problem and what they did.
Thanks guys,
Dave
PS...if anyone has been reading any of my other a/f problem posts, I just wanted to say that Sean from TorqueFreaks is the friggin man. You have no idea how well the car drives now. The SC used to rattle, he took that out somehow with the new maps and ecu (don't ask me how). A/F is so consistent it's not even funny. Throttle response is unbelievable. And it really didn't take him that long at all. He's got so many maps to work off of. I highly recommend this guy, enough to say if you aren't pleased with him, I'd refund your money. This guy really is the best tuner I've ever had touch my car, no questions asked. I'd pay triple his fee for the kind of results I got...and I had issues that weren't his fault at all...and he worked through them. He does everything possible to get your car running perfect. If you're wanting to tune, talk to this guy! I am in no way affiliated for who he works for or anything, but this guy definitely deserves recognition for his work.
Thanks guys,
Dave
