Question about Exhaust

Default Question about Exhaust
I am looking at buying this car and I received this picture of the underside. Can anyone tell me if the pipe circled is a normal piece of the stock exhaust and what it does?

That is OEM it is called the Helmholtz resonator it helps control the drone normally found on aftermarket exhausts. That is an oem exhaust, good to go
