nope not a turbo, too scared. I will go with a AEM once I upgrade to 600cc+ injectors and 11 PSI pulley like Jenner. for now I am leaving the kit alone. It will be here in the next 2 weeks.

with all of this talk about spark plugs I pulled my denso's last night and took a pair of needle nose pliers and re-gapped them. The car sounds different, idle is better and RPM's seem to climb a little stronger.

The denso's are pre-gapped and after reading many threads on spark plugs I found that many respectable owners re-gapped their plugs to factory specs, even when super charged.

I ordered IK27's and I will re-gap these also. Be careful when re-gapping. It is easy with needle nose pliers. Becareful or you will snap the electrode.

I wouldn't consider the Densos to be pregapped at all. All of mine were gapped to about .030.

They are pre-gapped per customer service tech at sparkplugs.com. I argued with the guy over the gap issue, he said that Denso was right and I was wrong.

I agree with you and many other owners dating back to 2001 spark plug threads.

are we finding the ideal gap for NA applications to be around .044?

It has been widely accepted that for FI, the stock gap of around 0.040" is too big. The theory is that the spark has a bit more trouble jumping that space at high rpm, under boost (pressure). 0.030-0.035" is more compatible with this type of mod. IK-27's might be too cold for a climate like NJ in winter. IK-24's might be a better all round choice.
FYI, I've been running the stock plugs (as they were still quite new when the Vortech went in) @ 0.034" and this has been working nicely for me through all climatic temps so far. I pull them out from time to time to "read" them and they all look "happy".

yeah, it has been in the 90's lately. i think i am still going to go with the 24's because i seem to drive more at night when it is cooler out because i work usually during the day
