Default Question about spark plug gap...

So i did my first spark plug change on the s2000 today. car is at 73k miles.

first, the plug was whitish brown. ive been reading about it and it seems this is common, correct me if im wrong.

the more interesting thing i found was that the spark plug gap was WELL over .045 in.
i was just curious and stuck the .045 measurer through the gap and it didnt even touch the plug. has anyone ever experience the gap widening? or maybe it was originally not gapped correctly?

.032-.036 is good for an NA s2k. With FI we gap them alot lower so that they aren't blown out at high boost pressures.

Age will open the gap.

I recently did my plugs and the stock gap was on the low end so I just put em in cuz I didnt want to risk damaging the plug regapping them. The gap will be larger because of the plug wearing. By the sounds of it the plugs had been in there for awhile!

It is exactly that. Some people just seem to blirt out bad information without actually finding out what the REAL answer is. Then some unsuspecting soul uses it and later wonders why his car isn't running as well as it should.
