Default Question about Steering EPS Reset

I had honda do some work (SB 00-154) When I got the car back I noticed that the steering wheel was off center. I have concluded that they failed to set the torque sensor neutral position. My question is, will this harm the car in any way. I have been driving alot and I hope I'm not hurting my baby!!!

If your steering wheel isn't straight you need an alignment.

The EPS reset is to change the amount of torque the powersteering puts out to move the wheels.

Would it be possible to reduce the amount of assist? I feel that the reson the steering feels "dead" is that there is too much assist... though I'm not sure how much it's applying at speed- it may be that the car is just that light.

This is from the FAQ:
"The EPS control unit stores the memory of torque sensor neutral position in the EEPROM. Perform memorizing the torque sensor neutral position whenever the gearbox is removed/installed and the torque sensor or EPS control unit is replaced."

If this wasn't done it would not have any affect on the position of my steering wheel when the wheels are straight? I'm asking cuz I really don't know. The steering was not off before I dropped the car off at Honda. Hmmmm...

Good question. I've wondered about this before. Would turning the wheel more than 45 degrees during the EPS reset do this? How does it feel if you completely disable the EPS? I'm guessing that the effort would probably be unreasonably high with the quick ratio steering. The lack of feel seems to me the biggest fault with the s2000. I think a little less assist in exchange for better feel would be welcome by some owners. Anyone have any experience with this?

This is exactly what i think about the power steering of S2K.
If anyone knows how to get less power assistance, please post it.
For me it's the only thing I don't like in driving the S2K.

Several of us have had the same problem with the wheel being off center after the clutch tsb. I had them re-align the car and center the wheel 4 times and it still isn't perfect. A couple of other guys said the front subframe has to be loosened and it is probably causing the wheel to be off center if it didn't get aligned correctly when it was retightened.
