Default Question on AP1 Cylinder Head

I'm having my engine refreshed and when looking over the cylinder head, my mechanic told me to get a replacement screw (which is apparently missing) which goes into a hole near the VTEC solenoid and is used to maintain "oil pressure".

I've attached a couple of pics showing the area I'm talking about. Anyone know if this part is available separately and its part number?Attached Images

Nothing goes in that hole. It remains empty.

Isn't that hole used to check the static action of VTEC engagement, using air pressure? The hole is covered by valve cover, correct?

Thanks!

That hole is for the gauge joint adapter used in the vtec system test. Air is pressurized into the cam towers, not this hole.

Its always comforting when the mechanic rebuilding your engine isn't familiar with the engine he is working on.

Judging by the above responses, no, that mechanic does not know what he's talking about and I would highly suggest you do not let him touch your engine.

Probably told him to go work on his own engine and then flung a crescent wrench at him
