Default Question for those with aftermarket injectors.

I'm about to install some 440cc RC Engineering injectors. They are slightly taller than stock which necessitates replacing the rail mounting studs and the two bolts holding the rail brackets.

What have others replaced the stud with? I heard there is a part from another Honda that is taller (Civic, Integra, Accord?). Does anyone have any specifics?

I know if I go to Honda parts they won't have them in stock so I won't be able to try them and this could end up being a long winded process.

As some background I have a Comptech SC and E-manage and will eventually be installing a 4 inch pulley.

Hi Aus,

Sorry I don't have any answers for you!! but I'm interested in this as I have a set of 550cc RC injectors on order so would like to find out if I'm going to have the same issue?!?!?!

So anyone feel free to answer Aus's question

Regards

Andy

RC is going to send you 5 spacers with the injectors. You remove the 3 studs, put one spacer under each and reinstall the stud. The other two spacers go one each under the bracket that the bolts go through.

I bought these 2nd hand and there were no spacers included. I might have a word to RC about getting some.

If you call them, they will sell you a set. They aren't expensive. Did the seller also give you the connectors for the injectors? If not, you will need those from RC as well.

Aus2000,

If there is a male thread on each end you could just get some long studs and use tubular spacers of the appropriate length over the stud.

Get some appropriate studs and bolts from a fastener supplier and come by the PRB factory to part off some aluminium tubular spacers on the lathe.

Lee Brothers in Paramatta should have the studs/bolts you require.

Thanks Chris, I'll pull her apart tomorrow and see what I need, but studs and spacers should do the trick. However the connectors problem has me concerned. I'll look into that on the weekend too.

F1s2000 - The injectors are only any good if you've got the ECU to drive them. The E-manage allows you to compensate for the increase in injector size and will drive them based on maps that allow for boost.

Aus2000,

How much longer are the injectors? It its only a few mm you may be able to just use 5 custom thickness washers under the existing fasteners.

Yellow streaks post makes it sound like the height difference isnt enough require replacing the original studs. A handfull of 5/16 inch or 8mm washers may do the trick.

I'll check on the weekend. It's the connectors that have me worried now.
