Default Questions about Turbo

Ok, so today I was out farting around. I decided to test drive some cars, seeing as their is nothing to do in North Carolina. I test drove a 2003 Mazdaspeed. Now Sticker claims 170hp plus a garrett t-25 ball bairing, air to air intercooled turbo. My question is, what would a car like this put down for hp both at the flywheel and at the wheels. Is it 170 or more or what? I was a bit confused, bc when i drove it, sucker had some zip to it, to me it felt like it was more around 220 or so.???

Mazdaspeed is:

Horsepower @ RPM 170@6000
Torque @ RPM 160@3500
curb weight: 2843
Front wheel drive with LSD
5 spd. manual

with drivetrain loss it probably puts down about 145 fwhp stock.

Turbo cars are easy to mod, and the Mazdasped does well at Auto-X's, but then again so do S2000's!

If you decide to up the boost you will need a real intercooler on that car. The factory IC is incredibly small.
