Default Quick question about transmission fluid

I'm going to be changing my transmission fluid this weekend, and was wondering if it is safe to use the remains of an unfinished bottle of tranny fluid that I opened up last year. Does it go bad somehow?

Reason I ask is because i've heard that for changing brake fluid you are only supposed to use un-opened bottles of fluid. So does this case hold as well for tranny fluid?

Thanks

Brake fluid is hygroscopic (sucks water out of the atmosphere) but gear oils are not. Go ahead and use it.
