Starter over-run. No big deal, just a little unsettling.

you're starter is just sticking a little bit in the cold weather. Very common on these cars, no need to worry - typically comes out in the cold.

Could also be one of the accessory belts. Still no big deal if it only happens on start-up on a cold/wet morning

FTFY.

There is only one.

But more than likely the starter over-run that I mentioned.

+1 for starter over-run. Mine's been doing it for almost two years now and has had zero impact. Ignore it.

Mine just started doing it this week and I'm glad you guys have lasted so long on it. I almost ordered a new starter.

No need to order a new starter. This may just be the most common "issue" with S2000's in general. The general consensus is that its harmless, just a bit annoying in the morning.
