Default Quiet "tapping" after long driving...

Hi guys,

just to put my mind at rest Im sure it's totally normal.

After a drive of 30 minutes + if I open the drivers door with the engine on and rev the car very slowly I can hear a sort of faint tapping/ticking sound which goes away when I get above 2.5k rpm.

It's not necessarily rhythmatic either... I'm pretty sure it's normal. Oil i'm using is 5w40 fully synethetic.

On a separate note, when pulling up to some lights after letting the car brake to stop, when I pull off their is sometime a puff of smoke that looks almost like condensation, it doesn't happen all the time. Is this just due to it being cold here and the car being hot?

Thanks

P.S the noise I described is 100% not TCT noise.

Are you checking your oil level? Is it in range or on the low side?

It's more apparent with the door open and sat in the car, sounds like it's from under the car...?

I've just listened and it definetly isn't injectors

It's on 72k a few people I've spoke to have said it sounds normal but just wanted to see if other members have the same noise.

If it's heard mostly while idling then it could very well be your valves. When was the last time you had a valve adjustment?

What brand of oil? I know some people state that synth causes issues when conventional does not.

It's millers recommended by a fair few tuners over here, what's the conventional alternative?

Valve adjustment I'm unsure, it's ful Honda history so I would hope it's been done when scheduled.

Sorry I'm not much use on that front, my history isn't with me
