Default Random tech high flow cat..

Does anyone know what the gains are on this higher flowing catalytic converter? There's a groupbuy for it but I'm not sure if it's worth installing on my car..

I have a high flow cat but not sure what gains are if any. I went with a high flow cat because of the SC.

Basically, all high-flow cats are the same ... Doesn't matter what brand, make or country of origin. You get about 5ps or somewhere around that, power that you cannot feel and for that matter ... I wouldn't even think about buying one, the OEM cat is made up of better quality nevertheless. Changing a high-flow cat on a stock exhaust system is useless, simply because your restrictive muffler is still in place. If you have like an N1 exhaust system, it might be good but once again you cannot feel the difference if you already have this exhaust system installed prior to the cat.

i dont think getting a new CAT or even taking it off will gain significant increase in HP.
only makes your car smell like crap.

I just asked because replacing the cat with a higher flowing one does free up significant amounts of hp on larger displacement motors as a couple friends have replaced theirs and gotten 10-12hp from it.

In the spring I am going to dyno with and without the cat (I have a BYS straight pipe) and then with the Mugen ECU and then stock ECU... I will post comparison dynos on the board. I bet the cat makes no difference at all...
