just noticed this rattle at lower rpms. changed my oil today with castrol gtx, and thought it might have gone away, thinking it was dirty oil, but no luck. i'm at about 4k miles. at first, i thought it could be the clutch. but with the clutch in, the noise is still there. the first time i heard it, it was leaving the base i work at, walls on both sides so i could hear it well. when driving, the only time i could hear it would be cruising, not accelerating or deccelerating. if i feather the throttle at a stop(clutch disengaged), i can start to hear it at around 2k rpm, but its never an exact rpm, usually between 1800 and 2800 rpm. like i said earlier, its a rattle, doesnt sound like a heatshield, more like a paint can when you shake it and hear the ball, but a little more hollow sounding. any help would be awesome!!! my last resort is taking it to the dealer, i know they are probably gonna say theres nothing wrong, but its driving me nuts.

I have the same exact thing. Same exact word for word. I also have 4k on my 06. I am thinking this is normal, but I don't know for certain.

 

thats crazy. maybe it is an 06 thing. i searched the forums, and saw that 'radiozero' made a post about a rattle, and like you said, his description was word for word what i said...hmmmm, strange. if others have this, i'm not gonna stress it. thanks for the reply!

I have a buzz on decel at around 3 & 4k on the tach...but I think it's something in the cabin because of my loud-@$$ invidia.

 

this is probably the good ol' 'clutch buzz'....

thanks for the link. even though the sound you described is different from what i have, i'm gonna try and maybe tighten down those bolts, see what happens, its worth a shot.

 

i get the occasional clutch decel buzz, and some random harmonics at hwy cruising,
but nothing here that sounds like a spray can rattle
