Rattle Rattle Rattle
Hi Guys. I am brand new to this forum. I have an '02 2000 with only 2000 miles on it. I love the car, but recently, it started to make a metallic rattling noise from the motor after i start it up. It will run for about 1-1.5 minutes quietly, and then start this rattling noise at about 1500-1700 RPM. If I were to venture a guess, I would say it is a bad cam chain tensioner. I have confirmed that it is coming from the inside front of the motor by listening with my trusty stethoscope. So there is no chance that it is coming from the exhaust or anything like that.
Has anyone had a similar problem? I am a bit concerned, especially if it is a cam chain tensioner issue, that something more severe might happen if i dont get it fixed soon.
Any and all input would be great. Thanks.

Honestly, if I were to hear a metallic rattle from my engine with only 2000 miles on it, I would be at Honda having that fixed. Metallic rattles can only mean future problems, get it fixed while you still have that new warrantee.
i think i have this same noise, its quiet at first but as the rpms drop the noise starts. but mine sounds like the accessory belt or pulley is making the noise, anyone have some input?
