Rattled the Cat
thought that was a good/funny title for this.
Regardless, i threw a check engine light for an O2 sensor downstream. I figured it was the one by the cat, so i pulled the whole cat off, and realized that the honeycomb inside of my cat is destroyed.
as of now my S is bone stock, i was going to use this as an excuse to go with exhaust and test pipe, but i still have to pass emissions, which in MD all they do is check to see if there is a cel.
is there any way to get exhaust with test pipe and still pass emissions.
also, what about a high flow cat?

How old is the car? How many miles?
If less than 8 years and 80,000 miles, Honda will replace the cat under the emissions warranty. They did mine earlier this year.

You can have a test pipe without a CEL. There is a thread on it. All it consists of is taking two 18mm anti-foulers (available at your local discount auto/pep boys/etc) attached to where your 02 sensor goes and it won't trigger the CEL.
