Default Was this really bad for the clutch ?

"lets feel the POWER of the S !!"

...and I engaged first, revved to 8500, (there was gravel below the wheels), release the clutch, and.... and... the engine revving to 9000, and nove, no wheel spin.. no NOTHING... DAMNN!

2 seconds away, I press de clutch again, drop RPM to 2000 and started gently, without problems..

A terrible BURN smell surrounded de car for three hours...

But there's nothing wrong with the car nor the clutch now, I know I made a mistake and also know that I did not ruined my clutch, but had forced it. The question are:

Is this a symptom of lasted clutch or its normal when releasing clutch at 9K?

The car has 26000 Km (16459 miles), and except for this, the clutch was always lovely treated. (All my "hard" starts, have been done at 6K, with excellent results. This 9K start was due a missattention or something...)

Thanks

sounds like you glazed the clutch disk. the only bad things are that horrible smell and the fact that you probably just took off a couple miles off the clutch. since it was your first time, i wouldn't worry about it.

I did that to my clutch early in its life. I've gotten great mileage out of it (28K miles and counting), but it has been pretty weak ever since the incident.

tnx everybody, RazorV3, gernby. I feel more relaxed now. I thought about overlasting the clutch, but I note this is not the case.

dangarza: Por suerte no era un toro de San Fermin quien me perseguia (Lucky it was not a San Fermin's bull who chases me). As you know, its so easy to reach the redline in neutral in this engine, I was tired as I've just arrived from a pretty long trip (500km, 310miles), and miscalculate or did not play attention to the rev meter when I release that left pedal...
