Smile rear bumper dent

Some moron hit my S in a parking lot today and dented in the rear bumper on the drivers side. Would you guys recommend taking off the bumper and trying to push out the dent or just leave it as is and report it to the insurance company (paint is also scratched). Im not very confident that I can make it look decent by just hitting it on the other side. Thanks for your help.

that would depend on what your deductable is. A new bumper painted and installed is only around $400-500. Cant say what i would do without seeing a pic of the damage.

Well, it'll have to be repainted. But, you can probably get it painted cheaper than your insurance deductible. If unsure, take it to a body shop and get an estimate written, make sure they know you might want to just pay out of pocket.

Cheap man's fix would be to remove the bumper, heat the plastic with a blowdryer or heat gun to get it nice and warm, then push it out. Your paint is probably already cracked so painting is somewhat necessary.
