Default rear diff mount - driver side

done some searching and here on s2ki as well. but all i come across is diy for fluid change.

So my question is do i have to drop the diff to replace the mount. From the looks of it, it seems i just unbolt it and slide it out. (rear sway bar clearance?) thank you for input.

rear drivers side diff mount is very common. I had the same issue - you don't need to drop the diff and I didn't remove the sway bar but I did remove undo the 2 mounts. You'll need to support the diff and get it at the right height for the mount to come out

there's a DIY floating around on here somewhere - search for diy diff collar install

Even though you are just swapping mounts, not adding diff collars, the collar install requires remove then reinstall diff mount, so you can just follow the diff collar diy, just skipping the part about adding the collar itself.

..? actually you don't need to drop anything. just remove 4 bolts from the mount, and it will slide out.

just search for s2ki rear diff mount diy

that's what i thought. thanks for confirming.

once car is on jack stands, remove the 2 bolts on each side of rear sway bar allowing it to fall and move around a bit. Must remove both mounts (removing just one will not give you enough play to slide out driver mount). Slide the mounts out and the diff falls about an inch. For reinstall, place a jack under the diff allowing you to adjust its height to slide the new mount back in. Driver side is a really tight fit between the under side of the trunk. Play with angles and it will push through. Thread bolts back in and you are good to go.
