Some LE gear oils are a dark reddish purple color (like blood). And from their name, I suspect that Redline gear oil is red in color too.

No it's a 23 mm and a 24mm. That is what is on mine. A 15/16 just won't cut it.
A 15/16 is a perfect fit for the drain plug, guaranteed.

a 15/16 WILL cut it.

I haven't rounded any corners using 15/16 and am able to get proper torque on the bolts. I don't have a sears close to me to get a proper sized damn wrench.

24mm/25.4=.945

15/16" = .9375

That makes a 15/16 socket a better fit than a 24mm socket.

Ha

just getting ready to change my diff fluid today, and I thought I read somewhere that you need a 23mm wrench for the fill plug because you can't get a socket to fit. Is this true? I need to get the tools before I start, I don't want to get the car on stands then realize I need to take another trip to Sears, thanks.

Yes. My sockets are to big.

Some folks have chopped a socket down. Also the 24 is likely not in your tool box, get one as well.
