Rear Differential Leaking

Default Rear Differential Leaking

hey guys, I just noticed a oil spot on my driveway today. Looked under and the bottom where the drain bolt is under my Diff had some oil. The bottom casing was kind of wet. Did i not tighten the drain bolt tyght enough? I do have a washer in there too. Im worried im at work right now, im bout to get off early and jack up my car.

Yes, there is a washer that should have been put on the bolt. Many people drop this into the drain pan and never put it back on. In fact, every drain and fill bolt on this car has a washer.

Be careful!! and don't overtighten your drain bolt and strip your diff.

what happens if you loose to much diff fluid? loss of performance?

blown diff.


with loss of fluid its usually a lockup and loss of control.
