Rear end Groaning
This sounds similar to my problem:
There is a very noticeable "creak, creak, creak, creak...." noise from the back end. It occurs after I've driven the car for 30 minutes or so, and is most apparent at slow speeds. This creaking noise is always there, but it is not as loud when the car is in gear, and it doesn't change with brake application. The repetition of the "creak" slows along with the car's speed, and when the car is just barely moving the noise becomes a loud "grooooooooooaaaaaaan" until it comes to a stop.
Could this be the same problem?

Here is a lesson in life. Take accountability, and we will all try to help you. Making up some BS and then insulting your "caregivers" are not how a young man becomes a man. Think about it.
I am not unsympathetic to your fate - I was 15 once - but I would not bite the hand that feeds me either.
Sewcond the Tgread of the year nomination. There should be a Forum called "Big Ones" or "Tall Tales".
This was the clincher for me:
You "forgot" to mention it?
For any 15 year to go out in a shiney, high powered convertible and do burn outs is a most memorable event - not something to be forgotten. You even admitted that it "seemed to be what triggered it". And after you asked the first time hoping for a simple answer like "It's OK, nothing is wrong. The car's fine. It'll go away" and NOT getting what you were hoping to hear, then you tell us this other little tidbit about the burnouts.
I seriously doubt your dad had full knowledge of what you were about to do with his car. And I have a feeling that this guy (if he exists at all) is now NOT as good a friend to your dad as he was. Oh, and would this "friend" of yours be, what, 18?
