REAR GLASS WINDOW! Std. on '02 What about '00-'01???
As many of you probably already know, the 2002 model comes standard with a rear GLASS window.
Does anyone know if we will be able to order just that part of the top and interchange it with our 00-01s???
I looked over a '02 model and it does seem to be similar in size, but I am not too mechanically incline & the dealer was absolutely no help.
Any info. would be appreciated!

Do a search- it's been discussed. No one's tried it, but the glass is NOT available seperately from Honda- you have to buy the whole top (the skin). The fabric/glass is available seperately from the bracing, which appears to be the same (leading one to believe that the fabric/glass would swap over fine).

Marcucci,
When you say skin, do you mean the entire top, or just the portion of it that's attached to the window? The plastic that's attached to the window (6-8" border) can be zipped out, so are you saying Honda isn't offering just that piece separately?

MacGyver-
I actually posted a little dissertation on this a while back. For '00-'01 the soft top and plastic window are available seperately. For '02 the only way to get the glass is to buy the entire top, they don't offer the glass seperately. I do not know if it can be unzipped.
The part numbers and info I posted are from the '00-'02 Honda Parts Catalog, what the dealers use to look up parts. Honda may still offer the glass seperately, but dealers won't know how to order it. I'm surprised they haven't offered a retrofit kit yet.
I've been considering testing different glass (from other cars) and having a local upholstry shop fit it into canvas for me that can be zipped into place. If you would be interested in this PM me, I suspect the price to be around $300.

here's the jist of it, reportedly per Honda info supplied to dealers:
"Q: Does the 2002 SOFT TOP with the hard glass rear window and defogger fit 2000/2001 S2000s?
A: No, but we are working on a kit that will allow such an installation. Initial information indicates that this kit could be very expensive and would require considerable installation time. We will keep you updated as development continues.
