Default Rear Main Seal Removal - help

I recently had my engine rebuilt buy a local guy (turbo, rods/pistons, head/block machined etc.. pretty hefty rebuild) and now I'm puking oil from the rear main. I gave him a new one to install, but clearly it isn't installed right. I pulled the transmission today, and the seal appears to be in place but i'm not sure how deep it's supposed to go. There are two clear markings on the seal where he hit it with a flat head screwdriver to push it in.. I can't tell if oil is coming out from a possible puncture or if its just not installed correctly. I'm running 14psi, and have PLENTY of crankcase vents (4 to be exact). what are the odds of boost blowing oil out? or blowing the seal out? and the main question.. how does it come out? its recessed in a little, and i don't see any easy way to get it out... any input is appreciated.

**and so no one asks, I didn't take it back to him bc after investigating the car, i have found several problems and lazy shortcuts that i'm not happy with. so i don't want him touching my engine again...**

Sharpen a punch, razor sharp point and angle like a pencil.

Pierce a tiny hole in it, right in the middle (between block and crank)

Put a tiny sheet metal screw in the hole, and easily pull the seal.

worked like a charm. thanks!

It it possible that boost/crankcase pressure is the reason for the leak? i still point to installation error, but if it's because of excess pressure or boost being applied before the seal had a chance to set up, then i want to take any precaution necessary to keep me from having to remove this transmission again...

^^ What billman said. Be very careful not to scratch the crank!

Absolutely crankcase pressure will cause this. There is a reason why many FI people have -12AN fittings out of their valve cover. I would plan a better PCV system to prevent this from happening again.
