Default Rear Tire Alignment

In a previous post I stated that I was getting 6-8K per set of rear tires with mostly highway driving. I believe it was CoarDoc that posted that I should have my toe setting set as close to 0 degrees as possible. I had a new set of tires installed and aligned. The process took nearly 3 hours, because the mechanic said the whenever he'd set the toe the camber would come out, and vice versa. Well after all was said and done my final numbers are as follows:

REAR LEFT
Camber: Actual= -1.4 deg, Before= -0.9 deg
Toe: Actual= 0.26 deg, Before= 0.52 deg

REAR RIGHT
Camber: Actual= -1.5 deg, Before= -2.1 deg
Toe: Actual= 0.24 deg, Before= 0.43 deg

TOTAL TOE: Actual= 0.50 deg, Before= 0.95 deg
THRUST ANGLE: Actual= 0.01 deg, Before= 0.05 deg

Are these numbers representative of what should be expected when you request the toe set to 0 deg?

You wouldn't really want the rear toe set to 0 degrees. If you did, then the rear would be squirly under hard braking. However, since you reduced your toe by 1/2, you will get better mileage out of your tires. Do you know what your rear toe is in inches? The OEM setting is .25" total toe in.

No, not sure what the toe is in inches. The sheet here says for the '00 - '03 S2000, the range is 0.16 deg to 0.32 deg.

Isn't there a formula to convert the degrees to inches based on the wheel specs?

Yes, but you answered the question already. It soundls like you still have twice as much toe as you should.

I've aligned S2k's before and I'd question the competence of the alignment guy if he's having that much trouble...
