I had some extra rear wheels, so I mounted tires on them and put them on the front wheels. However they do not hold the rotors still and this caused interesting noises to happen when I test drove it.


So I've come to the conclusion that rear wheels cannot be put on the front (because of rotors).


Now - the question is

What if I use open/extended lug nuts? WIll this allow me to use the rear wheels on the front tires?

BTW: I know there are screws on the rotor holding it still, but they should not be necessary when the wheel is on...

 

I had extra socks so I put them on my hands.

 

factory s2000 wheels are equiped with hubcentric rings that are different sizes front and rear.
you can fit a front wheel on the rear but not vise versa.

and an additional fact: when you get a flat rear tire, you replace it with a front wheel and put the spare on the front.

becasue there's guy running ap1 rear on the track already, maybe they run a spacer to bypass the rotor hub or maybe they bore it out on a lathe.

it could be done so go ask them

Do not mount rear rims on the front of the S2000 unless you enlarge the center bore on the rim. The rim will not sit flush against the rotor, it becomes easy to break studs, and other nastiness can occur.

 

Okay I will pay the "stupid tax" of 24$ bucks and have my tires swapped around on my rims.

take your rear wheels to a machine shop and have them bore out the center. search on here to find the exact measurement and they should fit just fine?

 

Just bring one front and two rears to the machine shop.

The will take a measurement from the front wheel, and use that spec to bore the rears.

 

yup, can be done and is a very popular set-up for trackies. just need to machine it out as billman said.
