Default Rear Wheel alignment off

Hey fellas,

sorry if I'm beating a dead horse here but I've tried searching all over the place (Maybe i'm just bad at searching) but I have an issue.

I'm American living in England atm.. driving a left hand drive car.

It's been a little icy lately and the other morning going about 15mph my car ran over some black ice and the rear tire/wheel slid into a curb. The wheel is screwed, it still holds air and doesn't look warped, but the outer edge is dented in pretty badly.

The drivers side rear wheel is now toeing out slightly and when I drive the steering wheel has to be slightly turned left for the car to drive straight.

Nothing is shaking, making noise.. it feels a little weird driving though.. because you can tell the wheel is fighting to go left slightly. I had a few local mechanics look at it and they say there looks like no visible damage to any components under the car but that the wheel is shot and they have no idea about the alignment and why it's off.

Is it possible to adjust the rear wheel alignment and if so how easily can it be done, and what kind of damage am I looking at here? Anyone with experience on this issue?

Hopefully something serious isn't screwed up and I'll be needing a new rear wheel from somewhere.. hopefully I can find one =c

Thanks for any help..

Jason

Maybe, but more then likely you need a few parts replaced too. The lower arm and knuckle come to mind.

They have no idea why it's off? Has this thing been on the alignment rack? That would tell you more then just someone visually looking at it

Camber and toe are adjustable on the rear.

First thing to bend in the rear is the knuckle.

Take a look at the lower ball joint, right next to where it sits close to the backing plate. If the knuckle-to-backing plate distance varies in comparison to the other side, it's bent.
