leak down test tested a 10% leak on exhaust and intake. so what to do now? is it because valves are too tight beause i had a valve adjusted just recently then the noise came a few weeks after. or need a rebuild?

no leak from the rings? (listening at the oil cap or case breather) I'd say the kicker is the fact that you just had your valves adjusted, then the problem shows up. Who adjusted the valves? if it was a dealer or shop first thing I would do is have a talk with the service manager. If not, you should check the valves. 0.00 clearance is bad. Make sure when doing the leak down that the cyl was on TDC of the compression stroke also - you don't wanna falsely accuse someone....

its fine forget who to blame. the question is what can I do for the time being.

Should i buy some standard valves and spring and take it to the machine shop?

There are no other leak after the leak down test, so i am ure its just replacements. If replaced, then which brand to go to OEM? or others for standard performance.

valves (supertech): $300 also as much as OEM with discount.
Labor from friend: $500
Machine shop to clean and pressure test and other jazz: $200
Springs: around $200-$300
guides: dont know yet.

misc: new oil, gasket, etc probably $150 - $200.

Everything should be the similar, the only difference is the labor cost.

anybody has a better price, hit me up. Doing it this weekend or next weekend.
