Default rebuild! HELP

Just did a compression test on cylinder one after a engine light went on (p0301). Thought it was the spark plug or coil pack, but it wasn't. We tested and it was at 90, then it went down. The other 3 are fine, but the first one (cylinder 1) sucked like shit.

Brother is doing a cylinder leak test to see what the real problem is: the gasket, valves, or pistion. Hopefully just gasket or valves. This will be tomorrow.

I probably need to rebuild my top block motor, any recommendations on where in Sac/or any where to go for a good competitive price? Give me full cost of rebuild and labor, or just the rebuild.

If piston wall ends up being scored it would be cheaper to buy a used block unfortunatly.

You can't go wrong with a bottom end from Honda if that's the problem. 2k for a new bottom end is very reasonable IMO

http://www.hondaautomotiveparts.com/auto/j...NSMISSION++ASSY.

select engine assy form the last drop down

There's usually some f20/f22's for sale in the classifieds as well.

you got it used instead? well i might consider that. Its my cylinder head that needs to be rebuild. I called a machine shop here and said that they can do it, but because the motor is sensative, and depend on how bad the condition is, it might not even pass smog. Talked to a smog guy and he said they only test for 3000 rpm so it should be fine.
Got a friend who is willing to sell me his ap1 head for my ap2 messed up head, or get the head rebuild and pay my uncle in law for labor.

Dont really know what to do.

the head shouldn't be a big deal to rebuild.. Its the bottem block that is.. If its your head consider yourself lucky..

And if you get the head rebuilt by a good shop they shouldn't tell you that it might not pass smog.. thats bull..

If they told you that then either find another shop or buy a used head. Used head would be a lot better IMO than having it rebuilt.

the smog guy said the same thing too. The machine shop said it because they rebuild a ap1 poorly mantained head and didnt go well after the rebuild.
