Redlining before actual redline?
Ok so I have a 2007 s2000 and have a very interesting question. The last two times I have driven this car, right when I take it out of the garage and am about to enter the freeway I have redlined before actually redlining. In other words, im in first gear and when it hits 7000 RPM's, it throws it back as I have redlined after the 8K actual redline. After that it doesnt happen anymore. Whats going on?
Im so confused....

Wow, I guess I'm the cautious one.
I always drive a good 15 min before hitting VTEC.
Even when the temp shows fully warmed up, your tranny might not.

Old farts like me always thoroughly warm a car (engine, trans, and diff) before running it hard.
Stratocaster, do you actually forget? The only times I've ever fogotten not to rev a cold engine has been when I was mad as hell and didn't care, and that's not really forgetting.

I believe this is one of the things I learned from my father, and until I started hanging around here on S2kI I thought it was something almost everyone learned about when they learned to drive.

Yup! Ive learned this from driving classic muscle cars at a younger age. If the choke wasnt warmed up enough the car would just bog when i leave my driveway and turn off sometimes.
RedMX5 is right, the driveline should be warmed up so all your oils and bushings are at the temperature they were designed to give you the best protection.
Pretty much...your car got a cramp!

No Dan, you're not the only one.
