It's definitely not common unless you do something horribly, horribly wrong, but maybe someone has.

uncommon, but does happen. Jackie blew his, but got it replaced under the guise of #4 failure.

So despite the high comp of the s2k, a comptech supercharger at around 7-8 psi can be relied upon ?

Almost as reliable as stock if taken care of ? i.e frequent oil changes

i talked to a guy who has a lot of experience with the f20c and superchargers, and he told me that a supercharger gives "death shakes" to the motor and will eventually wear out the motor.

he said turbo is the way to go and thats the path im taking in the future. ill post the thread when honda-acura.net is up again.

Well, there is a guy on the board with 100K miles on his, but that is the exception rather than the rule. A good rule of thumb is "There's NO such this as free horsepower". Everything has its price and a supercharger/Turbo will, IMO, have an effect on the longevity of the car.

I think most of the FI experts here say that 6 PSI is safe with good engine management (and tuning). Above that will require stronger internals.
