To relocate battery or not to relocate battery?

What is everyone's opinion on this subject?
Worth it or not worth it?
I relocated the battery on my old Toyota and it was great until I tried to check my ignition timing only to find out that I had to get another battery to bring up to the front to check things!
Who knows....
Just looking for a little more "edge"

I would say no... because I suspect that honda took the battery weight into consideration when balancing this particular car.
And I know what you mean about the timing gun... I have to use another car's battery when I want to do it for my CRX.

How about one of those "light weight" batteries?
I saw an ad recently for a 13 lb. battery. I think it was called a Dynabat battery?
The ad stated that typical batteries weigh 40 lbs! Is that close to reality?

Going with a light weight dry cell battery if you don't need the cold cranking amps (CCA) is the way to go - just make sure you take out similar weight at the rear of the car (say, the spare? or replace the muffler with a 20lb lighter one?)

I don't have the number with me but here's what I remember.
The car is extremely well balance with the driver in the car. Ever wonder why the spare tire (at 25 lbs) is on the right side?
Still, the car is heavier on the front than the back.
We have found on the race car (2,700 pounds/half tank of gas) that adding weight to the back (100-lbs) made the car more friendly to turn on a fast course.
interesting.
that would imply that switching to a Spoon battery and lighter header could yield positive handling results - and would also indicate that removing the spare is NOT a good idea after all.
