My friend had the same problem with his S. He bought a 00 white S2000 with alarm but it never worked right. It would unlocks and locks the doors whenever it wants to and he couldn't set the alarm. We thought it was the battery but it did the same thing after we got a new batt. So we decided to look at some of the wirings. The previous owner had installed an aftermarket alarm system (he forgot to tell my friend that) and did a poor job of stripping it out. There were couple of wires coming of the factory alarm unit that wasn't connected to anything so we reatached all the wirings and got rid of the onez for the aftermarket alarm system. Check to see if your alarm hasn't been tempered like my friends. His work fine now.

cool....no problem. Thats what i love about this site.....everyone helps everyone, like a big happy family. We should really try and get everyone on this site together....that would be AWESOME!!! Imagine thousands of S2000's in one spot at the same time!
oh i love hearing people find the secret compartment for the first time. lol i found out about it from people talking about it on this site even before i had bought my s. but i think it would have been fun to "discover it" later down the road.

Look here for instructions to program the remote if you haven't done it by now. If you have the oem alarm, it is installed under the driver's seat. It is a rectangular box, about the side of a paperback book, with an antenna (short), and two relays. It has a large, green connector on the side. The LED is mounted on the console posterior to the hand brake. The disarm switch is on the trim covering the steering column by your left knee. My alarm-enabled remotes don't have the trunk symbol in the round button to the lower right, it's labelled "option."

I recommend that you DO NOT DO THIS unless you know what you are trying to attempt!

It's very odd that the CRV, Odyssey and S2000 all wear those "H"'s on their sheetmetal. Perhaps because they are all made by the same company (Honda) and share some parts, among them the alarm system. I bet Toyotas and Lexus have similar parts and procedures as well. It's true that you should not blindly follow any, repeat, any ideas generated on this board without using your intelligence and doing a little research. Simillarly, if it doesn't make sense the first time you read it, maybe you read it wrong! Look on the handaaccessories site and follow the links for the S2000 before you go nuts. This is the document they cite for programming the keyless remote. Furthermore, I own the Operating Instructions manual for the S2000 oem alarm and the document cited contains the same exact instructions. So, do your own homework LATEOTT.
