Hi,

i've already done a lot of research on my cel p0410, and i've found several problems that could occur with the air injection system to cause this code to pop up. But i'm wondering if i can just get rid of the air injection system without causing another code to come up. basically, i'm wondering if the absence of any communication between the ecu and air injection system will pop up another code. Since i know there are several codes associated with the air injection system, this may be possible, but then again, maybe the absence will create no code at all. the main reason i'm asking this is because i'd much rather get rid of the whole system instead of trying to diagnose which of the many likely problems is actually the problem i have.

i think this was the same code i had when i installed a cold air intake. Have you installed an intake or messed with anything under the hood? I believe this code is cause by those little vac hoses near the Throttle body. When i installed my intake one of them accidently came off and its a common thing i have searched. Just go under the hood look near your intake manifold and throttle body and make sure all is connected.

 

No, there hasn't been any modifications to the car yet. i just purchased the s with the check engine light already on and this is the code i get

 

Yep. one of the vendors has a air injec. delete kit IIRc.

 

it's probably your air pump. there's a special going on the sponsor thing that has an air pump delete kit. you'l be able to smog and everything.
