Default Removing AP2 Valve Cover Hints/Tips/ I need help?

I just attempted to do a valve adjustment on my '07 AP2 and realized all the DIY's were of ap1. There are some small intricacies I'm not sure how to tackle. First, do you guys have any tips on how to remove the two hoses on the valve cover? I unclipped them but the hoses are still on there pretty tightly; I avoided pulling and tugging as to not damage the hose.

Second, how do you move the coil pack harness out of the way? I got to move it to the passenger side of the valve cover but only by forcing it over the TDC2. I ended up scratching the black wrapping around the 4th (closest to the back of the car) coil pack cushion on the harness.

just yank on the hoses. they are stuck on there.. use a pick or something to help break up the seal between the hose and the fitting on the valve cover. Sometimes its easier to undo the other end of the hose and leave the hose attached to the valve cover.

ignition coil harness just moves out of the way.... remove TDC2 to give you more room, pull the harness out of the slot by cylinder 1, move it out of the way.

silicon spray on the hoses and grab them with something snug and gently turn the back and forth (clockwise and counter clockwise)

Use a flat head screwdriver to pry the edge of the hose, it'll be much easier once you break the seal.

If you don't want to scratch up the valve cover with a screwdriver getting the hoses off a cheap trim removal tool works great http://www.harborfreight.com/5-piece...set-67021.html . They also work well on the rubber grommets that are on the cover studs. Once you get everything off hit the cover several times with a rubber mallet all around and use the filler hole to help get a grip on it it can be a PITA to break the seal at first.

Do you see the loom of coil pack wires? It is wrapped up and neatly secured to the VTEC solenoid area. With a screw driver remove the loom from that bracket, them pull over the loom until is it resting under the VTEC solenoid. This should free up room near the fire wall to pull the coil pack wires over the valve cover and sit beside the heat shield.

Please let me know if this method worked for you.

Thanks for the help guys!

I ended up doing a combination of everyone's suggestions. Unclipped the loom of coil pack wires, removed the tdc2 sensor, and just pried on the hoses using a screw driver. Managed to scratch my valve cover, but I was too fed up with everything to care lol.

For the future, wrap your screw driver with electrical tape to help prevent scratching.
