Default Removing Megan Racing Lower Ball Joint RCA

I have the rear Megan Racing Lower Ball Joint RCA and I need to replace it. I have been trouble taking it out has anyone successful removed them? I see install threads but I haven't seen anyone take it. I rented the Autozone and O'Reillys ball joint removal tools but it keeps catching on the ball joint and not on the knuckle.

Does anyone know any tools or techniques to remove it? The OEM ones fit perfect around the rental tools and it was easy to take out and install but with these aftermarket ones installing them is easy but not taking them out.

Plan to reuse the joint?
You can use a sleeve/cup/socket on the housing and drive the joint out with a hammer and there is a good chance you can re-use the joint.

Don't use the stud of the ball joint to push it out if you plan to re-use the joint. Also remove the boot first.

Thusly:

Or rent the set meant for Honda ball joints. O'Reilly rents it.

If you DON'T plan to re-use, just smack them out with a hammer. Doesn't matter where you smack.

Yes I plan to reuse it.

It didn't come out after I did what you told me to. I banged the shit out of it and it damaged the outer ring. I don't know how people replace these aftermarket RCA's once they are installed.

Are you sure the C-clip was removed?

Yeah I removed the C-Clip. The only thing that I could possibly see being a problem is Megan Racing provides a metal ring as an insert for the taller clearance and the C-Clip goes right under it. I left the metal ring because I can't take it off but Im starting to think that maybe it needs to come off?

The metal ring right above that C clip. I can't just slide it off. It was pressed in also so I'm not sure how to take it off besides maybe grabbing some pliers

Another example. I thought if press it out it would just slide out from under the metal ring. Maybe that is holding it in?

You should be pressing/pushing on the ball joint housing. It will slide thru the ring and spindle.

Were you hitting on the ring? or the housing?
