Removing the Oil Pan
As it says, I just ordered a new oil pan and I am getting mine ready to take off. I allready drained the engine oil and loosened all of the bolts. Is it necessary to drain the tranny? I noticed the pan went up and formed about a quarter of the transmission casing. If there is anything else I should be warned of, just let me know. Thanks.
Not a problem. One more thing you should know, even after all the bolts are taken off it will take a bit of elbow grease to break the honda-bond. Just make sure you have all the bolts out and use something to pry the edges, taking care not to damage the pan.
Damaging the pan isnt an issue. Another member sold me his oil pan because when Honda test drove mine, they bottomed it out hard enought to crack my oil pan. This guy is sending me some Hondabond too, so I should be good to go with it. Any tips for putting the new one on, because I am unsure how heavy it is and I will be the only one doing it.

awsome, thanks for your help. Are the bolts all visible by looking at it underneath? I was able to losen them all yesterday, I just figured since it IS a Honda there has to be some bolts that are hard to catch, see, or get to. My problem is, I have never had a project go smoothly, not with my old del sol, my prelude, or my S. So far so good, I just hope I dont strip nothing, haha
. Thanks again for your help.
