Default Removing & Replacing F20C Head

How long should it take for a competent mechanic to 1) remove the existing S2000 head, and 2) replace it with a new one?

Does a supercharger w/aftercooler make the job any more difficult or time consuming?

Thanks.

It took me three days working about two hours each day, but I was taking it pretty slow. So maybe four hours for a competent mechanic. Installing is about the same time. I followed the service manual, which has you completely remove the throttle body. Looking at it real quick, I think you can get away from just taking off it's mounting bolts, and pulling it away from the head (so there's enough room to yank the head). All the hoses in/around the throttle body were a PITA.

I concur maybe a little longer for the instal since proper torque has to be applied....
So I would say 4 uninstall and 5-6 install....

The S/C would add a significant amount of time since it's basically mounted primarily on the head itself.

You KNOW I'd like to see this! Let me know when the job is going to be done.

I've removed and reinstalled the supercharger assembly so many times sicne I bought it. If you give me 1 hour with air wratchet + hoist I reckond I could remove that dan thing with ease.

I reckon, the real difficulty will be the intake manifold. Those bolts are so fiddly and the spaces are so cramp.

What are you doing big? Are you hungry for more boost mate ?

I think it would be an easier job if you do not remove the intake when removing the head....

^ yeah you are absolutely right
no need to take the manifold off while it's in the engine bay

the jobs shouldn't take too long then prob around 1.5 days

Guys, thanks for all the responses. I'm budgeting 2 days for this ordeal, which seems like the safest thing to do.

Doc, of course you were on my mind. Actually, I was wondering if you would like to join me in this venture...
