Default Repaired Wheel Question

Hello,

I had an accident a long time ago, and they replaced all 4 rims with new ones. A buddy of mine borrowed the rims from the accident (2 were fine, 1 had curb rash, the other had a bent lip). The rim with the bent lip was sent off to be repaired, I do not know how they got the dent out. The lip was pushed out in a small area by a 1/2 inch. The rims balanced fine, and dont leak any air. He even used the rims several times at track events.

I got the rims back, and was wondering if it is OK to keep using these rims at track events. I'd hate to have them fail while on the track.

Or, I may switch the rims from the accident to run on my street tires, and put my track tires on the newer set.

What do the experts think?

Keep using the repaired rim for track, swap it to street use, or just buy a new rim?

Thanks for any inputs. BTW, the rim was damaged by a curb, and my S is my daily driver.

I am conservative about things like wheels and brakes when I'm on the track and recommend that you replace the previously damaged rim with another one. I'm not saying that the repaired rim is definitely unsafe, just that I'd make sure that the rims, tires and brakes are in top shape for the track.

You may be able to find a used one in good shape for around $100.
