? replaceable rear outer CV
Can rear outer CV be replaced as a subassemly? Majestic lists "CV joint set, outboard" as separate part.....looks like it includes the boot, which is torn and needs replacing. I have already replaced inner CV same side(driver), so i figured i don't need whole axle assembly, but i will replace whole left driveshaft if thats better or needed.
They are separate parts or it can come as a whole assembly from Honda. I had my Innter CV joint go bad 2x in the time I had the car. Once was when the diff blew itself appart!!!
The whole assembly...........inner/outer/half shaft is like 550 fully assembled. The inner CV joints are like ~200 each.
If its under warrantee try to get the whole setup replaced! If not...............if they are a good shop just doing the joint should be good enough.

ATS carbon fiber diff is for real(i hope). its a disk type racing diff....supposed benefits is it lasts forever and no mechanical noise compared to metallic disk type. it just became available....you definitely need one for your hotrod!!!

I don't think you can replace the outboard CV separately from the inner. I chatted w/ majestic about it on the phone once...try calling them to confirm if you can or not. I think you have to get the whole assy though.
yo cyber pimp,
the service manual does describe removing and replacing the outer CV, requires a couple special tools, and probably a pain, requiring hammering it off. But, i ordered the whole assembly from Majestic anyway to make it simpler and possibly what you say, however its a separate part. Thanks, i feel better that i'm going that route.
Vapor,
Carbon LSD from ATS price is about same as Mugen(which i am running), i don't know about diff fluid changes and maintenence, but the benefits are supposed reduced wear and longevity of disks compared to metallic(ie Mugen) disks. they claim 2 sec faster laptime in skyline at some track........zzzzzzzzzzz
