Default Replacement air filter

Can someone verify for me if the air filter that fits in the OEM box is the same for the AP1 and AP2 motor. I want to get a JR filter, but they only list one for the 2.0L motor.

Thanks

Id stick with the stock filter because you will see virtually no gains from some aftermarket filter and the stock filter cleans the air amazingly well where most name brand filters let alot of smut by

You will however see gains if you use an AUT style Cooling Panel and a top notch air filter such as a JR or AFE (the two most widely considered the best).

The airboxes are the same...I just loaned out my ap1 airbox to an ap2, who is currently running it.

That is exactly my set up. Backyard Special cooling panel (same as AUT) and I am trying to get a JR filter.

I do know that the MY 2006 cars have a different mount for the air filter.

I went with a k and N filter...not for gains but for the lifetime reusability. I also bored out the airbox, took out that wall, and coverd the sound restrictors. I have a carbon fiber plate that lopes over teh airbox intake and gets all air from radiator area....now just to get the snorkal!.

Modifying the airbox internals is my next plan. I bought a used one so I can experiment with it.

How do you cover the sound restrictors?
