Default Replacement key 06/07 for an 04?

Lost my keys while riding my motorcycle. Looking to get new ones, specifically the pretty princess s2000 key. Have an 04 car. Keys for the 04/05 look exactly the same as the 06/07 ones. Given they look exactly the same and are one part number off, I would assume they would be able to be cut and programmed for my car. The 06/07 keys are a good 50 dollars cheaper and I'm wondering if anyone has experience in using the 06/07 keys on the older car.

You have no keys for the car?

All the parts sites indicate 35111-S2A-306 (only) works with your 2004 car. 35111-S2A-307 specifically works with only 2006-2007 cars. No explanation, just what works and doesn't but my guess is it's related to the DBW ECU on the late cars.

If you can get the 307 key to work let us know.

I've still got a spare. It's the black Honda key. I'm tempted to try the 06/07 key but was hoping someone had tried already because if you're going to reprogram keys it's better to do a batch of them. Shop said it would be a similar price to do 3 versus 1.

Good evening fellas,
To answer your question, part # (35111-S2A-306) WILL ONLY work for the 2004-2005 AP2s. Part #35111-S2A-307 is specific for the 2006-2007 AP2 and will NOT start the car. I made this mistake a few years ago and purchased part #307 for my '04 AP2. Pays to learn lol. The key didn't go to waste, however. I'm still able to open the driver and passenger door with the key!

Reviving a somewhat old thread, but would the 35111-S2A-306 key work for a 2001?

Nope. Does fit 2003, 2004, and 2005 and that's it. Pretty sure you need a key that looks like a normal key and not with everything recessed like these the 35111-S2A-306 and -307.
You need

35113-S84-A02

These won't work, nowhere to cut the grooves you need.

The late keys are just plane blank blades which need special key cutting machines. And those blanks can't be cut into early style locks as far as I know. Those pretty keys are Over $200 (!) because of the chip.
