Default Replacing all my Fluids, did a search first.

Ok, So I went back and searched old post, and haven't found any DEFINITE answers. I'm looking to change out all my fluids. My car is about 11,750ish miles, and I want to change all the fluids out before I store it for the winter.

Oil Questions:

1: What weight of oil is the best?

2: Which Brands work well?

3: What would make Vtec not as pronounced?

Oil Answers still in the air:

1: People said 10w-30 because Honda recommends it, but other people say 0w-30 runs smoother. I'm looking for something to keep the same amount (if not more) power, and also run smooth (I'm greedy, I know :lol)

2: I've heard Debates on Mobil 1, Castrol GTX, And Redline. What about Q? What are the benefits of each oil? Some people said Mobil 1 is only for lower reving engines, and that Castrol GTX is for high reving engines.

3: Still don't know about this one, Does the oil decrease the power of the Vtec?

Transmission and Differential Questions:

1: Which Oils are the best for The Transmission?

2: Which Oils are good for the Diff?

Transmission and Differential Answers Somewhat:

1: Some people said MTL, and some said MT-90, and some people said Mix. What are some good brands also?

2: Some people said Mobil 1 Gear Lubricant (or something along those lines), and some others said Redline (If I recall Correctly)

Sorry about all the questions guys. I'm just trying to get some good answers, I've read about 5 or 6 post, and nothing has been real certain about this subject. Thanks for everything. If you guys need any wash or wax questions answered PM me lol. I'll try and return the favor..

Thanks,
Adam

my last fluid changes:

engine oil - mobil 1 synthetic 10w-30. i've always used mobil 1 btw.
tranny fluid - MTL. thought about trying LE607, but i bought OEM oil filters with the MTL. i might try LE607 for my next change, but really MTL is like butter after a couple minutes of driving.
diff fluid - mobil 1 gear lub. i did some searches as well, and decided to go with this one. i think one of the reasons for getting this is that you can pick it up at pretty much any local autoshop? don't quote me on it though.

You have very low miles on your car. Have you ever changed any of your fluids? If not, I assume that you like to keep them in the car for extended intervals and should consider AMSOIL synthetic lubricants.
To keep it simple, I'll recommend weights that are recommended by Honda and should serve you well:
Engine oil-
AMSOIL 10W30 ATM
http://www.amsoil.com/storefront/atm.aspx
Tranny fluid-
AMSOIL MTF
https://www.amsoil.com/storefront/mtf.aspx
Differential fluid-
AMSOIL SVT 75W110 (meets the old SAE 90 spec)
https://www.amsoil.com/storefront/svt.aspx
Brake fluid-
Honda DOT 3
Clutch fluid-
Honda DOT 3

What I use:
Engine oil-
Castrol Syntec 0W30 SL (first time using this oil, viscosity characteristics are similar to 5W40)
Tranny fluid-
New Honda MTF
Differential fluid-
LE 607
Brake fluid-
Honda DOT 3
Clutch fluid-
Honda DOT 3

Do not use LE 607 in the transmission. I don't know where the previous poster got this idea!

mobil 1 oil in 10w30 from walmart because it's cheap and comes in a 5 gallon bottle. honda pcx oil filter. motor oil is motor oil to me. replace it on schedule and everything will be fine.

le607 or mobil 1 75w90 in the diff. whichever you want and can find.

honda mtf in the transmission because it's cheap and works well.

Try to change your oil as close as possible to storing it.

Has anyone tried Valvoline's Racing Oil?
It's a 20w50, how would this effect the engine? I think I'm going to try Valvolines Syn 5w30

How do different weights of oils effect the engine?

The higher the number, the more viscous/mobility it has, correct? Or do I have it backwards?

The reason I'm changing my fluids is a two part answer. The oil is due for a change, (It's been 3 months since the last oil change), and sometimes when I go to shift, my gear box grinds, and I'm wondering how many metal shavings are in my transmission, so I'm just going to change it out, and replace it with better and newer fluids (Since this will be the first time they have been changed). And I figured I might as well change out the Diff fluid while I'm at it.

You guys have been really helpful.

No need for a "thicker" oil ie 20W50, you really want to stick to a good 10W30, during the colder months, 5W30. (good meaning Mobil 1 syn, Mobil 1 EP, Amsoil syn, Castrol syn, Valvoline syn, please make sure it's a Full synthetic and not semi)

Change out the transmission fluid with Honda MTF (it's good, and seems to get better with age)

Diff, use a Hypoid GL-5 Spec 90W oil, be it a 75W90 or a straight 90W. A good FULL synthetic diff fluid. It doesn't require friction modified additives for specific LSD type diff's.

Please read around and you will gather ALL the information you need and then some.

Enjoy!

Engine oil: Moble 1 10W-30
Filter: OEM PCX
Trans: GM Syncromesh FM (will be switching this to the new Honda MTF)
Diff: LE 607 (no gear whine but not good during cold weather)

One question that is still unanswered is people claiming their Vtec isn't as strong/pronounced.

What would cause this? Someone made a statement saying this is BS, and that the oil has nothing to do with it, but there was no follow up.
