Default replacing hard brake line

I'm just wondering if there is any real downside to swapping out a factory hard line (that has been damaged) with one from Napa or any other store. I haven't priced it out yet, but I've been searhing and apparently you just buy a set length and then bend it yourself.

I'm only asking because I'm taking a look at the line that I need to replace and it is pretty intense! There are quite a few bends to it and it goes along the firewall, under the brake master cylinder and I have no idea where else, but I know it looks like quite the intricate path.

I was just thinking of getting one with the proper ends and run it along the top of the fire wall so it would be easier to route. Is there any real downside to this?

one thing they take into consideration is heat, you don't want to get it too close to exhaust parts.
