Default Replacing input shaft seal

So i followed the Helm's and the sticky here on the boards to take of my tranny. Now that it's off, how do i go about replacing the seal? It looks as though it's installed from the inside which means I have to take the entire tranny apart? Is there any other way to do this?

It is installed from the bellhousing side. The throwout bearing retainer must be removed.

There is a Honda special tool used to drive the seal into the housing over the input shaft.

Maybe if you ask a dealer nicely they will let you borrow it.

Good to hear! I hope this special tool can remove the old seal from the bellhousing side as well. It does not look like a pleasant job if you're going to follow the helm's manual to remove it...

With the OEM seal driver it's a few minutes to install it, after removing the trans

The S2k trans is the only Honda manual trans that you can do this with. All the FWD trans require you to split the case and pull the shafts out to get to the seal.

That was my first impression as well looking at the seal. it doesn't look like it can pull out easily.

Not sure how this driver tool will pull out the old seal but it's something that I'll be purchasing tonight.

In case anyone else needs to purchase these two parts, Below is the part numbers. It's also referenced in the Helms manual.
